Steelers vs Panthers

I like the Panthers’ chances to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in tonight’s primetime game from Bank of America Stadium.  Kickoff is 8:30 PM ET on NBC.

The Steelers have had 10 days rest following their 26-6 loss to Baltimore.  Their defense is ranked 27th in the NFL compared to the Panthers who are currently ranked 5th.

QB Ben Roethlisberger has been struggling with his accuracy and the rest of the team, both offense and defense, are flailing on fundamentals.  The Steelers will have to work hard to protect Big Ben from being sacked since Carolina is tied for fourth place with 7 sacks.

The 2-0 Panthers lead the League in giveway/takeaway ratio with 6 takeaways and no giveaways.

There was hope at the beginning of the preseason that Pittsburgh would be a top contender, a thought that was borne out in their first two quarters against the Browns.  Unfortunately, their level of play in the last six quarters has been lackluster.  If that holds, and if the experts’ predictions are right for tonight’s game, my angry kitties will be 3-0.

ROAR PANTHERS!

And because no football post would be complete without some pom-poms, please enjoy this photo of the Junior Top Cats.
