Men have higher body temperatures than women. If your heating goes out in winter, I recommend sleeping next to a man. Men are like portable heaters that snore.

About That Dentist Who Sucker Punched Cecil...Redux

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
When I wrote About That Dentist Who Sucker Punched Cecil..., I thought, Okay. Now that's over with, nothing more to be said! Now we can get back to Donald Trump's hair and how well Hillary scrubbed all the incriminating evidence from her server. Or something like that! Turns out I was wrong. Cecil the lion wasn't the first time flaming abscess Walter Palmer DDS had broken the law in pursuit of big game trophies.
"...in September 2006, Palmer was hunting black bear in northern Wisconsin when he shot a bear in an area where he wasn’t allowed to hunt, shown in these photos below. According to court documents, Palmer had a permit to kill a bear in one county, but he shot the bear 40 miles from away in an area where he did not have a permit to hunt. As soon as the bear was killed, Palmer and the three guys he was with -- guides -- they agreed they would lie about it,” U.S. Attorney John Vaudreuil told “20/20.” Vaudreuil got involved when Palmer took the bear across state lines back to Minnesota. “He was lying to us. He was offering to pay, it turns out, about $20,000 to keep the others who were in the hunt, to have them lie, so that’s a fairly aggressive cover-up,” Vaudreuil said."
Maybe this guy is just trying to compensate for being first runner up in the Wally Cox lookalike contest. Or maybe he's trying to compensate for something else. Hopefully, his fifteen minutes of fame are up.

Your Dazzling Moment Of Zen

Please Don’t Indict Hillary!

Photographers captured images of impeached former President Billy Jeff playing a round of golf with The World’s Most Dangerous Community Organizer on Saturday at Farm Neck Golf Club in Martha’s Vineyard.  That same day, some 1300 miles away, Hillary was visiting the Iowa State Fair where photographers managed to snap a pic of the email prodigy taking a few bites of the fair’s iconic pork chop on a stick.

Hillary spent all of 90 minutes at the fair and flew to Martha’s Vineyard to join her crooked hubby.

Allahpundit warned that this photo should tell you how seriously you should take the prospect of Hillary being indicted.

Proof’s In Charge

Last week I asked co-blogger Proof to look after the place while I’m away.  I emailed him to let him know that my best friend would be undergoing yet another surgery.  This time the surgeon will attempt to correct a “curling” of the carotid artery that occurred post-op and restenosis (a recurrence of narrowing of the artery).

Her son, who was seriously injured just before the Memorial Day holiday in a motorcycle accident, asked me to help him take care of his mom during her recovery.  He’s still in a wheelchair two-and-a-half months after his accident. Since he’s like a son to me I could hardly refuse to help him out.

I hope to come back home in about two weeks.  Meanwhile, Proof has the keys to the liquor cabinet so Hillary Clinton can’t drink all my damn vodka.  He promised when he agreed to do me this favor that he would “try not to complain about” my “frequent vacations/absences/benders/rehab visits too publicly.”

So…if the place goes to hell while I’m gone don’t blame me.  If it doesn’t work out, I’ll be accepting rĂ©sumĂ©s for co-bloggers.  Odie? Grunt?

Thanks, Proof.  I owe you big.

Braying Ass Defends Hillary’s Secret Email Server

Former Vermont Governor, Howard Dean, whose presidential campaign was torpedoed by a blood-curdling scream heard 'round the world appeared this morning on MSNBC’s Morning Joe to defend Hillary’s secret email server.  The cast immediately mocked him as a partisan hack.

According to The Washington Post, much of the classified information in the email conversations on her server originated with the CIA, according to two government officials familiar with the records. Some of the information was deemed to be classified by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency’s classification guidelines. The information included references to information related to satellite images and electronic communications, according to the officials.

Tuesday evening as news broke that the FBI demanded Cankles surrender her private home server, Chairman of the House Select Committee on Benghazi, Trey Gowdy released the following statement:
“For months the Select Committee on Benghazi has called on Secretary Clinton to turn over her server to a neutral, detached third party for independent forensic examination. She refused every entreat.  Secretary Clinton said she created this unusual email arrangement with herself for ‘convenience.’ It may have been convenient for her, but it has been troubling at multiple levels for the rest of the country.”
“Congress, the media, the public, private litigants and FOIA requestors were denied access to public documents, and recently the Inspectors General for two separate Executive Branch entities expressed concern about the possible exposure of classified material as a direct result of her decision to eschew the email rules applicable to everyone else and create her own.”
“The IC [IntelligenceCommunity] Inspector General revealed Secretary Clinton’s emails and server contained not just ‘top secret’ classified information, but ‘compartmented’ classified intelligence not releasable to foreigners, which must be noted in the timing of this announcement. This is a serious national security issue, and the seriousness of it should transcend normal, partisan politics.”
“The revelation that Secretary Clinton exclusively used private email for official public business, and the multitude of issues that emanated from her decision, including this most recent one, demonstrates what can happen when Congress and those equally committed to exposing the truth, doggedly pursue facts and follow them.”
A lefty website reports that a new Monmouth University survey finds that “52 percent of registered voters think that Clinton’s emails should be investigated in a criminal probe.”

This morning as the full impact of this bombshell is sending shockwaves through the Democratic Party and the Hillary camp, Trey Gowdy appeared on Fox News.  Below is the interview:

Top Secret Cow

Revelations that dozens of Clinton’s emails now include classified information has prompted an FBI inquiry into whether classified information was improperly stored on her private server and a thumb drive held by her attorney. The news has sparked fear among national security experts that the federal government’s secrets may have been exposed or even hacked. However, the two inspectors general said the material in Clinton’s email was not marked as classified at the time. The FBI declined to comment.
Clinton, who has repeatedly denied she ever sent or received classified information, has attempted to downplay the scrutiny as mere partisan attacks, but questions about her judgment and motive for setting up a private server in her Chappaqua house in 2009 continue to dog her. Her campaign declined to comment.

Orphaned Voters

Glenn Reynolds AKA Instapundit wrote a well-argued opinion piece at USA Today about how Americans are longing for someone to give them a voice:
Watching the Donald Trump kerfuffle from across the Atlantic, British journalist Milo Yiannopoulos tweeted: “Republicans smugly predicting Trump will fail from self-inflicted wounds don’t see what a stunning admission of their own failure that is.”
He’s right. The rise—and, for that matter, the fall, if fall it is—of Trump is an indictment of the GOP establishment and, for that matter, of the American political establishment in general. And that failure bodes poorly for the future, regardless of what happens to Trump.
Trump’s rise is, like that of his Democratic counterpart Bernie Sanders, a sign that a large number of voters don’t feel represented by more mainstream politicians. On many issues, ranging from immigration reform, which many critics view as tantamount to open borders, to bailouts for bankers, the Republican and Democratic establishments agree, while a large number (quite possibly a majority) of Americans across the political spectrum feel otherwise. But when no “respectable” figure will push these views, then less-respectable figures such as Trump or Sanders (a lifelong socialist who once wrote that women dream of gang rape, and that cervical cancer results from too few orgasms) will arise to fill the need.
But Trump and Sanders are just symptoms. The real disease is in the ruling class that takes such important subjects out of political play, in its own interest. As Angelo Codevilla wrote in an influential essay in 2010, today’s ruling class is a monoculture that has little in common with the rest of the nation:
“Never has there been so little diversity within America's upper crust. Always, in America as elsewhere, some people have been wealthier and more powerful than others. But until our own time, America's upper crust was a mixture of people who had gained prominence in a variety of ways, who drew their money and status from different sources and were not predictably of one mind on any given matter. The Boston Brahmins, the New York financiers, the land barons of California, Texas and Florida, the industrialists of Pittsburgh, the Southern aristocracy and the hardscrabble politicians who made it big in Chicago or Memphis had little contact with one another.
“Today's ruling class, from Boston to San Diego, was formed by an educational system that exposed them to the same ideas and gave them remarkably uniform guidance, as well as tastes and habits. These amount to a social canon of judgments about good and evil, complete with secular sacred history, sins (against minorities and the environment), and saints. Using the right words and avoiding the wrong ones when referring to such matters—speaking the ‘in’ language—serves as a badge of identity. Regardless of what business or profession they are in, their road up included government channels and government money because, as government has grown, its boundary with the rest of American life has become indistinct. Many began their careers in government and leveraged their way into the private sector.”
To this ruling class, the rest of the country is sometimes an annoyance or obstacle, sometimes a source of necessary funds or votes, but always the “other”—not our kind, dear. Too ignorant, too unpolished, too unconnected to the right institutions and pieties to really count. With ruling-class Republicans having more in common with ruling-class Democrats than with the people they rule, it’s unsurprising that, as Codevilla predicted in a later essay, millions of voters feel orphaned. Democracy doesn’t do much for technocratically set policy that always seems to reflect ruling-class preferences, and people feel they’ve lost control of their own fates.
Of course, orphaned voters aren’t a bug but a feature for a ruling class that would prefer to rule without them. But in a democracy, which America still is, voters don’t stay orphaned forever.
In this election cycle, Trump and Sanders have come forward to claim the orphaned vote. It’s very likely that, this time around, the ruling class will manage to put orphaned voters back in the political orphanage by the time Election Day rolls around next year.
But the orphans will still be there, still longing for someone powerful enough to give them a voice. And the politician who will ultimately manage to do so, unless our ruling class does a better job of listening, could be one who will make Trump and Sanders look mainstream.
Trump and Sanders are only symptoms. Failed leadership is the disease. [Emphasis mine]

Nightmare at 20,000 Feet Redux

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Starring Donald Trump as William Shatner.

I’m Tired Of Ham

John Fund, writing at National Review, best describes Donald Trump:  “The closest model for him I can think of is Douglas C. Neidermeyer, the bullying ROTC student leader in the 1978 classic college film Animal House.  We might learn a lesson from how the Delta Tau Chi fraternity dealt with Neidermeyer in Animal House. They never granted him the aura of authority he claimed, they constantly ridiculed his pomposity, and they provided him with opportunities to self-destruct. No matter how isolated in his own reality Donald Trump is, the outside world will eventually bring him down to earth.”
